About us

Between 2008 and today we have been honored to work with other artists, creative practitioners, theoreticians, and educators to produce their work and implement our own creative ideas. This broad, international, and cross disciplinary experience familiarized our team with different creative processes and allowed US to advance OUR practice and to talk about:

the life;

the arts;

the ideas;

the people;

the public space;

the creative space;

the young and the old;

the artist and the audience;

Ο στόχος μας είναι ο σχεδιασμός προγραμμάτων που συνδυάζουν την καλλιτεχνική ανταλλαγή με τη συμμετοχή και τη συν-δημιουργία με διαφορετικές κοινότητες, [κυρίως] στον δημόσιο χώρο. Κάθε καλλιτεχνική πρωτοβουλία που υλοποιούμε έχει ανθρωποκεντρικό χαρακτήρα, είναι εμπνευσμένη από την ιστορία του τόπου και της γειτονιάς που μας φιλοξενεί και αναδεικνύει τις βιωμένες εμπειρίες των ανθρώπων με τους οποίους συνεργαζόμαστε. Έτσι, επιδιώκουμε να συμβάλουμε με φαντασία και δημιουργικότητα στις περιοχές που επισκεπτόμαστε.

Παράλληλα, δημιουργήσαμε το μoment Creative, μια πρωτοβουλία επαγγελματικής ανάπτυξης για ανεξάρτητους επαγγελματίες του πολιτισμού και καλλιτέχνες.

Among the Ants blends artistic exchange & community engagement, [mainly] in the public space. Each of our projects is human-oriented, informed by local history, and celebrates the lived experiences of the people we work with; through these exchanges, we wish to contribute to making change happen in the areas they live in, using creativity and imagination.

We also facilitate creative conversations via μoment Creative, a hybrid mentoring platform for artists and creatives.

μoment Creative

Αξιοποιώντας την πολυετή γνώση στον χώρο του πολιτισμού στην Ελλάδα αλλά και διεθνώς, και παρακολουθώντας στενά τον χώρο του πολιτισμού, το μoment Creative ξεκίνησε άτυπα το 2018 και εξελίχθηκε σε μια σταθερή πρωτοβουλία μέσα από την στηρίζουμε καλλιτέχνες από διαφορετικά πεδία αλλά και ανεξάρτητους επαγγελματίες του πολιτισμού, στην εσωτερική τους οργάνωση, στην προώθηση της δουλειάς τους και στα επόμενα τους βήματα στον χώρο της τέχνης.

Το μoment Creative αποτελεί αναπόσπαστο μέρος του διεθνούς και διεπιστημονικού πλαισίου στο οποίο δραστηριοποιείται η ΑΜΚΕ Ανάμεσα στους Μέρμηγκες.

Προσφέρει χρόνο και χώρο για εξερεύνηση, μοίρασμα πρακτικών εργαλείων, καθώς και έναν χώρο δικτύωσης και ανταλλαγής, ενώ στοχεύει στην ενδυνάμωση των καλλιτεχνών ώστε να μπορούν να κινούνται με αυτοπεποίθηση στον χώρο των τεχνών.

Drawing on our experience in the cultural sector in Greece and internationally, and through ongoing training in the business side of the arts sector, cultural marketing, and self-organization, we support artists from different fields in strengthening their internal organization and planning their next steps within the arts sector.

This is an integral part of our global and interdisciplinary mindset, grounded in exploration, practical tools and peer exchange, that aims to empower artists with resources, strategies and connections to navigate the arts sector with confidence.

Η ΔΙΑΔΡΟΜΗ ΜΑΣ

Η ΑΜΚΕ Ανάμεσα στους Μέρμηγκες αρχικά ιδρύθηκε τον Νοέμβριο του 2009. Μετά από ένα διάλειμμα μερικών ετών, επανιδρύθηκε τον Μάιο του 2023.

Είμαστε μία μικρή ομάδα καλλιτεχνών, πολιτιστικών διαχειριστών και δημιουργών με και χωρίς αναπηρία. Μέσα από την καλλιτεχνική μας δράση επιδιώκουμε η τέχνη να γίνει πιο σχετική με την κοινωνία, παρεμβαίνοντας με φαντασία και ευαισθησία στην καθημερινότητα.

Σχεδιάζουμε, συνδημιουργούμε και υλοποιούμε καλλιτεχνικές και εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις [κυρίως] στον δημόσιο χώρο.

Ο τρόπος που λειτουργούμε στηρίζεται στην ενθάρρυνση της συμμετοχής παιδιών και ενηλίκων με αναπηρία σε καλλιτεχνικές δράσεις, την ορατότητα στον δημόσιο χώρο, τη συνδημιουργία, αλλά και την έρευνα γύρω από την απόκτηση συμπεριληπτικών εργαλείων για επαγγελματίες καλλιτέχνες και επαγγελματίες του πολιτισμού. Απώτερος στόχος είναι η ενθάρρυνση της δημιουργικής συνάντησης και της κοινωνικής αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ ανθρώπων που ζουν στην ίδια πόλη, ή ακόμα και στην ίδια γειτονιά, και αλλιώς δεν θα είχαν την ευκαιρία να συναντηθούν.

Έχουμε μακροχρόνιες συνεργασίες με καλλιτέχνες, ερευνητές, συμβούλους ψυχικής υγείας και επαγγελματίες από διαφορετικά πεδία της τέχνης, της εκπαίδευσης και της αναπηρίας. Ό,τι σχεδιάζουμε και υλοποιούμε, γίνεται σε συνεργασία με, και για, την κοινότητα.

Welcome

Hello, I am Constantina, an Athens-based creative professional, artist mentor & community artist.

I am inspired by life experiences, art, real conversations, fairy tales, personal narratives and the world around us; the space we all share, the relationships we form in daily life, and the /often silent/ interactions we engage in.

Together, we can co-create experiential spectacles, navigating from theatre to installation, from an intimate setting to an outdoor experience allowing space for hope, joy, honesty and healing.

With a background in social sciences, creative producing and youth inclusion I am driven by people’s stories. In 2009 I founded Among the Ants in Athens aiming to work on a European level to create artistic projects that cultivate imaginations and encourage togetherness [mainly in the public space]. Since then, I have been producing theatre performances, workshops, residencies and talks in various places across Europe.

My expertise includes creative producing, arts programming, mentoring for young people as well as professional artists and cultural professionals on topics that include project & touring management, international partnerships, community projects, volunteers’ management, grant & sponsorships, audience development and budgeting for performing arts projects.

Parallel to my experience in the arts sector, I have been working with children and teenagers since 2014 as a mentor, educator, and Teens Programme Coordinator at a youth centre in Athens. This experience has significantly informed my practice.
